Installing Magento 1 Extensions

Bright Owl modules are easy to install. All you need is to have FTP/SSH access details, and follow the following three steps:

  1. Download and unpack the ZIP file after purchase in the account area in our shop.
  2. Extract the files and place them inside root folder of your Magento installation. Use the “Merge” mode while placing files in the root folder. Do not replace the whole folders.
  3. Go to System -> Cache Management page in the Magento admin panel and flush the Magento cache. After flushing the cache, the extension is ready to use.
  4. To enable modules, go to System -> Configuration -> Brightowl, and set the "Enable" value of the module to "Yes".

If you are using code compilation on your website, before installing our extensions you should disable compilation.  After installing, press the "Run Compilation Process" button in Admin - System - Tools - Compilation to recompile your website's code.

Installing Magento 2 Extensions

  1.   Download and unpack the ZIP file after purchase in the account area in our shop.
  2.   Extract files on your computer.
  3.   Connect to your website source folder with an FTP/SFTP/SSH client and upload all of the files and folders from the extension package to the corresponding root folder of your Magento installation. Use the "Merge" mode while placing files in the root folder. Do not replace the whole folders.
  4.   Connect to your Magento directory with an SSH connection and Run the following three commands:
  •  > php bin/magento setup:upgrade
  •  > php bin/magento setup:di:compile
  •  > php bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy
